In 1938, men fishing off the east coast of South Africa caught a peculiar fish that was identified as a coelacanth ("SEE-la-canth"). This find shocked the paleontological world, because the coelacanth was a fish thought to have died out with the dinosaurs at the end of the Cretaceous Period 65 million years ago.

A few weeks ago air traffic was suspended for almost a week as a result of one volcano, Eyjafyoll, erupting in Iceland. The eruption spewed dangerous volcanic ash into the atmosphere, which can wreak havoc with jet engines, thus the ban on air travel. There is another volcano, the evil sister of Eyjafholl, if you will, and her name is Katla. It is this volcano that I call your attention to. This volcano apparently erupts every 60 years and when it blows it is 10 times the strength of  Eyjafholl.

Last week we told about Bryce Gaudian's experience with a storm in the Drake Passage. This week we have two more storms in which God's hand is clearly visible in providing protection – in one case, before thousands of witnesses.

Noah’s Ark found? We’ve heard this before and every time it happens I’m on the edge of my seat wondering if it could be true. You know what’s going to happen as people respond to this post? Some of you will write in and tell me that it makes no difference to them whether or not they ever find Noah’s Ark, as it doesn’t add to their faith. Well, I want to be clear that it doesn’t add to mine either, but it screams to the unbelieving world that the Bible is true and what was written thousands of years ago is not myth!

As a Jew, I have a lot of baggage considering the Germans considering the Holocaust. See Jerry Seinfeld. My wife always says that she is half German and half Irish. I answered in jest that this is two strikes against her. None of my family would even buy a German car until my Uncle Lou bought a VW Beetle to the ire of everyone. Whenever Germans are mentioned I used to yell Nazis even if it did not apply. I once wore an Israeli army t-shirt to an Oktoberfest Celebration. Prejudices die hard.

We live in one of the most amazing periods of time. We fly through the air at the speed of sound, communicate at the speed of light. Our markets are always stocked with the freshest produce. We drive in air-conditioned cars and clothe ourselves in a variety of synthetic fabrics. Yet, one volcano has put a huge dent in our way of life.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) gave the following admonition to the Church in the late 1800s.   Yet, while Spurgeon died nearly 120 years ago, his words apply just as much to the Church today as they did then - perhaps even more so.

In a report on its web site dated April 2010, entitled "Meet The Patriots," the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) profiled "36 individuals at the heart of the resurgent [patriot] movement."  The SPLC (founded by Morris Dees) sees itself as America's guardian against "right wing militias" and loves to label conservatives and libertarians that it doesn't like as "extremists."

Jesus Christ spent his days teaching and healing people, and even feeding people miraculously. His authority did not stop there, though. During a fierce storm on the Seat of Galilee, when the disciples feared the boat would capsize, they woke Jesus up from his nap in the bottom of the boat.  Mark 4:39 tells us that Jesus  stood and said, "Peace. Be still." Instantly the storm ceased. He then reproved the disciples for their lack of faith.

Politics is a blood sport, a game that’s especially dangerous for Christians. Just playing can mean that you’ve already lost.  As a patriotic American, raised to believe in the red, white and blue, it’s difficult to watch the transformation of our country from the land of the free into what will inevitably be a failed experiment in either socialism or fascism, depending on which collectivist sect eventually holds power.

I wrote this letter to the Arizona Republic newspaper of Phoenix in August of 1988 and it was published even before I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I had resisted it but God was already tugging at my heartstrings. I had not read the real Bible and knew little about Jesus. Still in all, it is an amazing letter.

I want to talk about my world view. It’s based on the prophecies found in the Guidebook to the Supernatural i.e. the Bible. It is also based on my experience as being a born again and spirit filled man for 30 years. We are living in unprecedented times. It would appear that there are “signs” all around us.

US Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens will turn 90 next week, and Stevens wrote President Barack Obama on Friday informing the President of his intention to retire. The announcement makes clear that Obama will have a second chance to settle an ideological liberal into a Supreme Court seat, and while Stevens' summer departure date is still months away, the battles over his replacement have already ignited.

Recently with Obama snubbing Netanyahu, a signal was sent to the Arab/Moslem world that the Untied States had changed its long-held position with Israel. It’s heating up folks. The players are in position. Yesterday, news broke that Syria gave SCUD missiles to Hezbollah, so now instead of the WWII vintage Katusha rockets they have new and improved SCUD’s which are far more deadly.

Our military personnel in the Middle East face daily dangers from roadside bombs and enemy fire. Not only do we support our soldiers to do their jobs, but we also recognize the absolute importance of praying for these courageous people who are placing their lives on the line to serve America. Many people in the military can testify about God's faithfulness to answer those prayers with great protection in the midst of serious jeopardy. This is just one story that two Green Berets had to share.

Last Friday, I told readers of this column that I had come across a very disturbing government report and that I would be exposing that report during my Sunday address this past Sunday morning. I did exactly that.

I have never seen on the same day, in the our news media, stories about dirty nukes being apprehended, the possible war in the Middle East, terrorists using nukes and finally great photographic evidence that UFOs are real, burgeoning and not going away! When I sifted though those stories I thought to myself, that this was a wake up call and yet most people remain ignorant of not only what the Guidebook to the Supernatural i.e. the Bible tells us what will happen in the last days, but they are also woefully ignorant of what is manifesting in our skies with impunity on a daily basis. The church remains asleep.

I met a woman who had come to the Lord recently because of the interview that she heard when I was on Coast to Coast, in December. She then E-mailed and I wrote her back exhorting her to accept Jesus and renounce the UFO phenomena. She did just that and I will hopefully post her story in this months News Magazine.

American Christians are again being called to sign on to a public declaration of faith and purpose. And again, the document looks good on the surface while amounting to a compromise with the enemy.

Born 1947 of two Jewish parents. Father was a Russian immigrant from Ellis Island. Mother was born in Canada. Had circumcision at home done ritually by Moel on the 8th day. Father had to buy me, the first son, back from rabbi who wanted me for religious service.

One would have to be a blind man to not see that America is fast losing the fundamental principles of liberty upon which our once-great country was established. And, without a doubt, the single biggest reason for this decline is the lack of concern and effort on the part of today’s Christians and pastors to resist it.

Jesus never, and I repeat never said, “to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment.” In fact, He said just the opposite. He said, he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. While we should be prepared to defend our family in times of emergencies, like the lawlessness that plagued the good people of New Orleans in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, in no way should we organize a raid against a group or anyone else for that matter, just because they have a different ideology than we do.

The post of UN Secretary General offers one man the ability to mightily influence the world. It is therefore a good idea to know more about the person who sits in that seat. Today we're going to turn our attention to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon of Korea, who succeeded Kofi Annan in 2007.

Hilary (Roberts) Jones reclined her seat on the passenger side of Brian Reed's car to relax as Brian started to drive over the mountains. It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving in 1993, and Hilary, Brian and Hilary's friend Amy drove through the snowy night to get back to school at Northwest College in Kirkland, Washington. It was a dark, quiet drive, with snow beginning to fall as they drove down I-90 past Ellensburg. On the radio, they listened to Jack Hayford preach about expecting the unexpected – about expecting miracles.

There’s lot’s to talk about today and the earthquake just south of the U.S. border would certainly be a good place to begin. It would appear that there is now a major earthquake somewhere on the planet on a weekly basis. Birth-pangs anyone?

Jesus doesn’t fly in Air Force One. And we Christians should quit trying to put him there.  Yet that appears to be the goal of an odd coalition of mainstream evangelicals and charismatic “new apostles” who have allied to promote the intertwined concepts of God and Country.  The cause resonates deeply with conservative Christians in the United States. We’ve been trained for generations to believe that “God shed his grace” on us, and that we’re on a holy mission to reclaim the planet from Satan. It’s tempting to believe that the noble ends of foiling the Enemy’s design justify nearly any means at our disposal.

As I mentioned in yesterdays BLOG, we are in a supernatural war with forces that for the most part remain hidden from the human eye. So it was almost 2000 years ago in this ongoing cosmic chess match, that a very critical move took place. I use the term “cosmic chess match,” because there are two main players that engaged in this war in the heavens, God and Satan.

I start every day by taking the Guidebook to the Supernatural i.e. the Bible and reading from it. My wife and I then have a time when we pray together. It’s a great way to start the day. Every night I pray out loud for protection. I thank the Lord that the Blood of Jesus covers my house, family, ministry, finances, health and everything else. To the skeptic this might seem like superstition.

On a Sunday morning in early 2008, Bill Courtemanche knelt at the altar of his church in Hedgesville, WV, frustrated over the suffering around him.
