It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars afar away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were boys when they died.

Centaurs, minotaurs, nymphs, fawns, are all familiar images from Greek mythology, but was it just mythos? Were these so-called fictious creatures in fact the by-product of the fallen angels who created the Nephilim, by cohabiting with the women of earth?

The Bible is very clear that God loves us (John 3:16, 1John 4:10, Jer 31:3, Rom 8:35-39).  God's Word declares that He loves us more than we can possibly know, that He IS love (1 John 4:8). Perhaps we would experience more miracles if we went to God with confidence in His love for us, ready for whatever glorious things He wanted to do in us and through us. That's the heart of God.

A year ago in 2009 I got my wife Paula for our 19^th wedding anniversary a copy of the NIV Women’s Devotional Bible. Lately, we have been using it for our morning Bible Study as our other Bible Study has disintegrated from over use and it was Paula’s mother to begin with.
