When I began this section of study I said that the kingdom of the beast is revealed in three chapters of the book of Daniel. The first of course is in Daniel 2 where we find the Bible recording the dream of king Nebuchadnezzar of the large image with the head of gold, chest and arms of silver, thighs of brass, legs of iron, and feet partly of iron and part of clay. This is a very significant portion of scripture and we have more we could say on this dream and its interpretation by Daniel.

The image in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2 has been an oft visited prophetic passage by prophecy teacher and scholars through the years. The head of gold, the chest and arms of silver, the thighs of brass, and the legs of iron are interpreted for us by history. We know these parts and their various metals represent the four dominant world empires that would be on the earth and exercise authority in the world from Daniel’s time all the way up until the Return of Christ. There is not a lot of room for speculation here.

I decided that it was time to finally reveal my story line on UFOs for the X-Files that I sent to Producer Chris Carter fifteen years ago.  I submitted this story line to Chris Carter, the Executive Producer of The X-Files TV show on May 30, 1995.

We began a study last time of the dream King Nebuchadnezzar had of a large image. We know from Daniel 2 that the King was very disturbed by the image he saw in his dream. We are told that he called upon his wise men and magicians to interpret the dream and they could not. Nebuchadnezzar was so infuriated by their inability to interpret his dream that he ordered all of the wise men and magicians in his realm to be killed.

It would appear that the Vatican has defined its position regarding the possibility of extraterrestrial life from other planets. In short, the Vatican has stated that ET may exist and if so, may not be in need for a savior as there may not have been a fall from grace. (think the garden, original sin, Adam & Ever, followed by the incarnation of Yashua/Jesus and the cross to save us.)  Is this preparation for a future announcement that ET has been here and is now back again? Are we being set up for disclosure?

One of the most fascinating sections of God’s Word, in my opinion, is the account in Daniel 2 concerning the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel was the first major Old Testament Prophet to actually unveil details of the final empire that would arise at the time of the end. This revelation of the kingdom of the beast is revealed in several prophetic dreams and visions recorded in the book of Daniel.

All public transportation silenced, all restaurants closed in Jerusalem on Monday evening as the sun set. The Hebrew day of great tragedies, Tisha b'Av, fell at sundown. In remembrance, tens of thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall to pray and petition the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.

Props to radio and TV personality Glenn Beck for speaking boldly about his faith. It takes guts to admit to believing in an invisible, omnipotent deity in this scientistic day and age.  He'd be better received if he claimed to see dead people.  Beck's message of faith, hope, and charity resonates with conservative Christians. But before we sign on as roadies for his American Revival Tour, we should stop and examine carefully the gospel according to Glenn.

It is critical to know God loves us, not just in our heads, but in our every day life experience. We need to know God loves us "experientially" so that no matter what happens to us circumstantially, emotionally or physically, the security of His Love is always there.  We also need to have the assurance of His Love in order to move ahead in our Christian walk. Not knowing if He loves us or not, will hinder our being able to-moment-by-moment-surrender our wills and our lives to Him and love others as He desires.

I have stated publicly, numerous times that at some point the Jews in Israel will rebuild the temple. There are many who do not believe that this will ever happen. There are those who declare that the church is the new Israel, which is replacement theology which I believe is a grave error. There are others who insist that it is not a literal temple that will be rebuilt. At some point, as I commented on last week, all of this will be self-evident as we watch events unfold.

As I have stated many times before, the Bible speaks of the interaction between fallen angels, who in my mind are so called extraterrestrials, and earth women.  “The sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they took wives for themselves, whosoever they choose… and the Nephilim were the children of such unions”(Genesis 6:2,4).

Being born again is not following a set of rules, or attending a church, or claiming that one is a Christian. Being born again is an ongoing, life changing experience where a person’s very spirit is connected to that of the God of the universe. For me one of the most amazing aspects of the whole experience is when He talks to me…. not in an audible voice, but when He gives me revelation, warning, insight, or sometimes what is called a word of knowledge.

While prophets like Isaiah and Jeremiah are well-known, many Christians know little about the shorter prophetic books of the Old Testament.  The books written by Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, and Malachi may be infrequently read, but are nonethless powerful voices from men through whom the Spirit of God breathed.  The following overviews of each of these books will hopefully inspire further study.

Yesterday, on the way home, I turned on the radio. There are two jocks that dominate the return-home, rush-hour, traffic. They are John and Ken, of KFI. They announced that they were going to play the entire 8 minute, vitriolic rant, recorded without Gibson knowing about it, on the air, uninterrupted. I listened for about a minute and then turned the radio off and prayed for Mel.

We either live in the kingdom of God which is faith-based or we live in the kingdom of the Fallen One, which is fear based. We can’t have it both ways. We’re either in one, or the other. We can’t have fear and faith residing in us at the same time. A friend of mine once told me that the currency of God’s kingdom is faith, which is the opposite of the currency of the Fallen One, which is fear.

When my novel, Invasion: Israel, was released in late 2004, I had no idea how timely it would become.  The reality of the Muslim desire to wipe out the Jews from their Holy land is there for all to see. They do not want peace. They have never wanted peace. Just read Invasion: Israel and see how I wrote of a rocket that hits Tel Aviv filled with smallpox and kills thousands. Is life imitating art?

Jesus always had some harsh words for the religious establishment of His day. (John 8:44 KJV)  Likewise, they were always looking for ways to entrap Him with His own words and ultimately they did just that. Often they would pose a ridiculous hypothetical question to Jesus hoping he would “slip up” and incriminate Himself in front of his followers and disciples. (Mark 12: 13, 14)

At America’s founding, the principles of Christian philosophy and ideology were universally accepted. The vast majority of the colonists were churchgoing, Protestant Christians who firmly embraced and respected the sacred principles taught in the Holy Scriptures. In fact, the reason most colonists placed such a high premium on education was so that children would be able to read and study the Bible for themselves.

There is a gathering storm. It is global in nature and it is coming to where you live. No one will escape it. This storm has been building for centuries. It has been crafted by dark forces, by the Mystery of Iniquity, by secret lawlessness that has been working behind the scenes. The storm is looming on the horizon and from my perspective it would appear that it will break soon, for it is supernatural in nature. When it does, life as we know it will change forever.

Many people may not realize that there are at least three prophets in the Old Testament that were called specifically to prophesy regarding the Gentiles. Obviously, most of the Bible deals with history - both past and future - through the "lens" of Israel. But there are three short books that focus on Gentile history and each has specific application to you and me today.

I received an Email the other day, from someone who wanted to know why the Ezekiel 38 war hadn’t yet started. I responded that it took the Jews almost 2000 years to reclaim their land in Israel and it was almost thwarted by the holocaust of WWII. I then added that the Jews coming back into their land started the end-time clock ticking.

Almost three years ago, Alan Greenspan’s memoirs, titled “The Age of Turbulence: Adventures In A New World”, debuted with plenty of media fanfare. Greenspan hit the interview circuit with a passion, appearing on financial networks, major talk shows and news magazines.  It was oddly like the hoopla that networks display when the cast of a formerly beloved television show reunite- our old pal Alan was back without missing a beat.

When Independence Day rolls around, it's not unusual for Americans to feel a sense of pride at the unique place our nation holds on the world stage. Even with the recent economic downturn, we are, by most standards, the wealthiest and most powerful country in the history of the planet.  We Christians see this as evidence of God's blessing. Maybe it is. But what if, instead of a blessing, this unprecedented wealth and power is actually--spiritually speaking--a curse?

I'm going to try and make this as simple and easy to understand as I can. Salvation is not only an undeserved free gift but it is really simple to understand given the right explanation. Hope that I succeed. There is after all eternity at stake.

This past week, my son and constitutional attorney, Tim Baldwin, wrote the following and then delivered it to his elementary age Bible class at our church. It tells the story of our brave forebears’ struggle for freedom and independence in a way that even children can comprehend. Oh! By the way, the class stood up and clapped after Tim delivered this address. I offer Tim’s lesson to my reading audience with the prospect that many of you may want to read this story to your children or grandchildren this weekend, as we celebrate our nation’s independence.

If Pharaoh could have jumped into the future to read the book of Hosea, he would have known that the Lord was a sovereign God (Chapters 1-3); a holy God (Chapters 4-7); a just God (Chapters 8-10); and a loving God (Chapters 11-14).
