Revelation 13 sets forth the most disturbing, troubling, yet thorough depiction of the Antichrist and the system he will reside over in all of scripture. John writes, And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. [Rev. 13:1 KJV]  

Galileo's trial before the Roman Inquisition in 1632-33 has long been used as an example of a scientist persecuted by religious zealotry. Those who promote the idea that science and religion are at enmity like to bring up Galileo's unfortunate treatment at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church. However, there is much more to the story than the neat and tidy picture of Galileo as a martyr for science and reason. 

I decided that it was time to finally reveal my story line on UFOs for the X-Files that I sent to Producer Chris Carter fifteen years ago.  I submitted this story line to Chris Carter, the Executive Producer of The X-Files TV show on May 30, 1995.

A recent article on the web alleged that Harry Potter was modeled after Jewish wizards. It discusses how some mystic, Hassidic, kabalistic, meshugeh (crazy) Jews believe that the Harry Potter books follow their misguided beliefs. That is not surprising since both advocate Gnostic new age babblings. How sad. As I have said for years, many Jews searching for the truth fall into mysticism as I did.

I want to tell you a story that happened to me about 30 years ago. I was a new Christian and didn’t know much about this chapter and didn’t know about the Rider on the White Horse.  During this time, I was under constant attack from the enemy, as I had been pulled from the kingdom of darkness and the Fallen One and his minions would not let me go without a fight. It was the most intense time of my life.

It is no hyperbole to say that the vast majority of today’s churches do not remotely resemble the New Testament pattern. In the first place, the Church was never intended to be a government corporation! Yet, that is exactly what every 501c3 non-profit “religious” organization is: it is a government-created corporation. In the eyes of the government, pastors, elders, and deacons are not pastors, elders, and deacons; they are corporate officers.

I’m most likely going to get in trouble for this post, so first let me first make a point, I’m not comparing the lead singer of Black Veiled Brides to the Arizona shooter, Jared Loughner. I’m not suggesting that the singer or the band would perform the same heinous acts that Loughner is alleged of. What I am pointing out is this, that in my opinion, there is a similarity in the eyes.

There are a couple of things that one needs to understand in studying the book of Revelation. First, it was written from the perspective of the spirit world. What do we mean by that? Simply that this book, like no other book of the Bible with the exception of Ezekiel and Daniel and a few of the other Old Testament prophets, pulls back the veil, as it were, and shows us things that originate in and are orchestrated by Heaven that in turn manifest in the earth realm.

Upon the Isle of Patmos; In prayer on the Lord's day; The spirit took me speedily; To an era far away.
He showed me things in visions; Which no man can see; Of  days to come in future; Which verily shall be.

Last Sunday, I was having severe pain in my Jaw especially when I ate or drank. It had been lasting about a week; I thought it was an exposed nerve or something like that. Finally on Sunday, the pain was so electric that I went to the ER at the hospital via ambulance. It was so crowded that I waited in severe pain for four hours to be seen.

Why do the righteous suffer? The Book of Job wrestles with this question, and yet, Job is never given the precise answer. He's not told. Instead, God makes it seriously clear that He knows what is going on even if Job does not. The ultimate lesson for Job is not really why the righteous suffer. The message is that God is God.

December 25 is approaching and we all know that it will be Christmas time. We should all remember that this is the day we celebrate as the birth of the Savior, Christ the Lord. We all need to remember that it is ultimately not about getting presents or about Santa Claus or Christmas trees or snowmen or reindeer or jingle bells. Jesus is the reason for the season and His free gifts of forgiveness of our sins and of eternal life are the greatest presents we could ever hope to obtain demonstrating God’s love for all of us in spite of our misdeeds and unbelief.

Today is Tisha B’Av, or the ninth of Av, 5771 on the Jewish Calendar. It coincides this year on the 9 of August. It is traditionally a day of calamity for the Jewish people as both the first and second Temples were destroyed on this day. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm going to try and make this as simple and easy to understand as I can. Salvation is not only an undeserved free gift but it is really simple to understand given the right explanation. Hope that I succeed. There is after all eternity at stake.

All public transportation will be silenced, all restaurants closed in Jerusalem next Monday evening as the sun sets. The Hebrew day of great tragedies, Tisha b'Av, will begin at sundown August 8. In remembrance, tens of thousands of Jews will gather at the Western Wall to pray and petition the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.

We have come in our examination of the book of Revelation to the 12^th chapter. This is a key chapter in the book. It is one of the most symbolic in a book filled with symbolism. The manner in which one interprets the symbols here will determine how one not only interprets this book, but in reality all of Bible prophecy.

I just ran across this case study in the February 2008 issue of the New Oxford Review Vol. LXXV, Number 2. What was so intriguing about it was not only the valiant attempt to document an alleged "clear cut case of demonic possession", but more importantly to me at least was the scientific qualifications of the researcher. Richard Gallagher MD is not only a board certified psychiatrist in private practice in Hawthorne, NY but also is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at New York Medical College and on the faculty of Columbia University Psychoanalytic Institute as well for a Roman Catholic Seminary.
